Dennis Hogan Photography "Capturing the Valley"
|
Frederick Beringer completed construction of his home in St. Helena in 1884.
The house called the Rhine House was modeled after the family home in
Germany. I believe that the beautiful stone wall was built at the same time.
Everyone that has driven on Highway 29 is familiar with the scene in front of
the Beringer house known as "Avenue of the Elms". This beautiful path is
located on the side of the highway. I have many people that live in St. Helena
come and visit the Blue Heron Gallery. I am amazed at how many St. Helen
residents can't place the scene, a scene that they may have driven by thousands
of times.
